At
age 8, Brandon found his true passion in life when he began racing go-karts
in the World Karting
Association. Brandon quickly became a threat to win in any racing event
he entered. During the 1990’s Brandon was the “factory driver” for
some of the sport’s largest and most successful chassis and motor
builders. In 1998, he earned his first opportunity to enter a limited number
of races in the Nascar Goody’s Dash Series.
In
2000, Brandon competed in 5 Dash Series races, with an impressive
best finish of 5th at Charlotte (Lowe’s) Motor Speedway. In a limited
schedule during 2001, and in only his sixteenth start in a stock car,
Brandon won the race at the famed high-banks of the Bristol Motor Speedway.
Brandon’s first full season in the NASCAR Dash Series was 2002
when he finished 10th in the overall championship standings and second
among all Rookie of the Year Contenders. However, the real highlight
of the 2002 “season” came in June when Brandon received
his degree from Forsyth Technical College. With
goals set high, Brandon and the team returned in 2003 to contend for
Series Championship. By year’s end, Brandon
was 5th of sixty-five drivers in the overall Championship standings
with 5 top ten finishes,
3 top fives and one pole. Brandon was also awarded the Most Improved
Driver award for the second consecutive season. In 2004, Brandon
joined forces with five-time NASCAR Dash Series champion Robert Huffman.
Brandon
finished the season 3rd in the overall points championship scoring
two poles, five top five finishes and earned consecutive wins at
Motordrome Speedway and Kentucky Speedway. For
the 2005 season, Brandon set his sights on the UARA-STARS Late Model
Stock Touring Series. By seasons end, ending the year with
4 top ten
finishes in only 9 starts. In 2006 and in just his second season, Brandon
captured the UARA-STARS Championship, with two event wins, 14 top ten
finishes and 7 top five finishes in 15 starts. Equally impressive,
he was voted the Series’ “Most Popular Driver”. Brandon Ward joins the potent Randy Humphrey Racing USAR ProCup team
for 2007, with his sights set on yet another Championship. |
